Why I can't live alone.....

How much I fear walking alone,
Spiritless and Paranoid I become
When I have only my shadow around
Loneliness Stay away from me!!
Knock me only when I reach my deathbed....

The sense of happiness and joy I get when I know I am surrounded by people is inexplicable. I am definitely not a misanthrope neither am I extremely gregarious but all I know is that I am a companion seeker. The urge to escape loneliness has helped me make quick friends, has made me talkative and sociable. More often than not this attitude has got me out of my comfort zone and has made me like change. The more I tried to escape loneliness the better adaptable I became.

"Ideal mind is a devil's workshop".I strongly believe in this saying, because when I am alone my mind is pushed to a state of vacuum and it makes me imagine things. Loneliness gives me new ideas and thoughts but for me to execute those ideas, I have to stay away from that dark hole. I believe a lone wolf can only think but for his ideas to materialise he needs people and he needs the power to communicate. For me to better my networking skills I need good articulation skills and the power to convince people. Being non-lonely makes me talk, makes me a people's person and gives me myriad of feelings when I meet variety of people. Loneliness narrows down everything to just me and wipes out variety and spice in life.

The more people I meet, the more cheerful I become. My life brush gets thicker when I accost many people and it paints a feel - good life picture. So loneliness stay away, knock me only when I hit my deathbed.........

Where will I walk??????

We are growing in terms of wealth , technology ,education, needs and of course people. In the pursuit for materialistic lifestyle we disregard the need and space to walk. Thanks to Karl Benz! for inventing a gasoline powered automobile and making our legs vestigial.Walking has become a tough act today, let alone  the laziness there is absolutely no footpath to encourage safe walking on roads. When it comes to infrastructure  what we bother to think about is well laid rods , little do we give a thought to foot path. Not only is walking a good physical exercise it will  exempt you  from the guilt of wasting  the most expensive material -Petrol!
no wonder it is called the black gold!.

After looking at scary natural calamities my conscience  pricked me ,so I decided to walk with an intention to minimize pollution .Happily I stepped out from home to commute to my aunt's place which is approx 2 km away.Within 300 m I confronted a  sewage drain overflowing, my immediate reflex was to shut my nostrils and frown. When I tried moving to the other side of the road a motorcyclist came honking. That is when I realized how fatal walking has turned out to be.

Footpath or rather the walking space on road is considered trivial as everyone has the luxury of wheels.Whining  does not end here, every house has the liberty to extend a ramp for a driveway robbing the space for foot path.Chennai corporation is busy with electoral publicity  that they have turned a blind eye to this illegitimate act.My immediate reaction was to find out  the situation in the western countries, as we Indians always like to draw examples for every motive. To my embarrassment the .Dept. of Public Work USA has Minor Sidewalk Encroachment permit to regulate footpath encroachment and rescue walkers.  Back home , I am happy to know that there is sometime called online road complain forum available on the Chennai Corporation website.Like always it is dormant , after registering three complaints regards poor roads in my locality I am tired !.Regulation of footpath here is a distant dream !.

It is good to be passive but total indifference is fatal .I wish and pray that social conscience in every Indian citizen opens up before it is too late .Be the change you want to see is better said than done , let all Indians let go  their awful greed and build a safe and Eco friendly environment.

To be recognized and wanted .......

To be in the "limelight" is every rational individual's need unless he chooses to become a saint.Oops!  contemporary saints have their share of recognition by making headlines for the wrong reasons .This want for recognition  is helping social networking sites like Facebook  make money .From juvenile to senile, everybody enjoys the privilege of having an account on Facebook. Thanks! to the site for fulfilling the craze to get recognized and grab  transient limelight. For the insatiable ones who want to make a sensational news on the television -suicide seems to be a good option ,all credit goes to celebrities like Jiah Khan for highlighting this option .

Appreciation, recognition and acknowledgement make us happy. In my high school, I studied hard to top my exams just to return home happy and wait for those cheerful words ;"you made me proud "from my mom.Now a million dollar question is ;Do all the recognition and limelight I manage to grab make me happy?Do I like to flaunt my accomplishments?Do success and appreciation complete my life ? What is wrong if I fail to hit the bull's eye? What if I don't excel and do not make great wealth and riches but settle down for a subtle life.My ego is accustomed to the expectations and the wants of the people around me and want them to pay attention only to me , talk about me and appreciate me . I want to be looked upon as a valuable individual in the society. Many times I have asked myself why do i enjoy the attention of others.?Why does it make me happy?Whom am I to blame for this stupid understanding of happiness,I know I do not live for others but I want to be in the good books of everyone around me .This want or rather a stupidity which urges me to do those deeds which the society at large respects and not what my heart likes and feels happy about.

Surprisingly, people around me do posses the same trait which is the reason for the so called rat race to emerge . Today, about three lakh people give Cat examination every single year in this country.Am amazed! Do all these people have the same talent, skill and same dreams? And the answer is a definite no.But all have same desire.Desire for money and the desire for recognition. We feel so proud to be called as an IIT and IIM graduate. The amount of respect our friends and family give after accomplishing this is enormous and is definitely a kick .From self analysis I know my physics  sucks but  I choose to thread on the same path as others and feel small and frustrated for failing to accomplish others hopes and expectations.

Many of us want an easy life with recognition and popularity, we follow others because we don't want to be the first to do it. We fear to try  something new and different as our genes are used to being among  the crowd.Self encouragement is what is required even before recognition.Initially, not many would pin their trust on our first attempt. Knowing oneself well and living for oneself and felling happy from inside is a bigger understanding and that is what I feel is the gateway to accomplishing our dreams and the by product of which is recognition .

Rameswaram Temple Visit ..believing!

A month of utter boredom .....I was absolutely jobless after having successfully completed my under graduation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.Being a travel freak any opportunity which would keep me outdoors was gladly accepted. On one fine day my parents planned a trip to Rameswaram (pious family u see :-)).I readily agreed to go for it as I could not resist the thought of stepping out of home.(Heights of desperation to travel). Thanks to "make my trip .com" for helping us book tickets at ease ,I was bailed out   from confronting world's slowest web browser  "The Indian Railways.com".

Two days stay at Rameswaram was booked and we departed from Chennai Egmore station on the eve of June 21st.

Day 1
June 22nd
4.20 am : Rameswaram express safely dropped us at our destination spot. Many autowalas were eagerly waiting to provide us an expensive service .We booked a room at Geetha Deluxe earlier and the autowala promised to drop us at the lodging(500 m away from station) for a charge of Rs.50.

4.30 am : We checked-in at Geetha Deluxe, pretty comfortable lodge, we booked a non-ac room with tv for Rs750. This lodging was at a walk-able distance from Rameswaram temple .

5.30 am : We got ready to go to the temple for the shivaling darshan .According to formalities one has to visit temple between 4:00 am to 6:00 am without taking bath for the darshan.

6.10 am : We were late by ten minutes (cannot let go our Indian genes) , as a result we had to pay a penalty of seeing Lord Shiva  from a very small hole, since it was crowded I had to bend , twist and try all aerobics to get god's darshan.

6.20 am : We came out of the temple after the darshan and walked to  Agni Theetham which was at the vicinity of Rameswaram temple(3m to 4m away). It is believed that Rama had cleansed his sins by taking a dip in this water after having killed Ravan (Lord Shiva's Devotee) hence being theist, we followed Lord Ram and performed our morning ablution in the holy water.

6.45 am : After having cleansed our body in the holy water of Agni Theertham we stepped inside Rameswaram temple to  perform our morning ablution with 22 Theerthams inside the temple. To perform this we had to bribe a temple guide with Rs 400 ,who promised to take the water (theertham) from 22 wells to assist us in cleansing our body and soul further :-). Sometimes these rituals and formalities appear funny but trust me this idea of cleansing with 22 different Theerthams is actually enjoyable and appreciated.I liked it , it was so much fun to shower in 22 different Theerthams especially when there is someone to draw water from the well and splash it on your head and your job is to stay in position to enjoy the shower:-).

7.20 am : We were done with cleansing and bathing .We changed our clothes to darshan god again after the clean up .After our conversation and request for blessings from god we stepped out of temple that is when we ran into an auto wala who convinced us a trip to eight different temples in the locality and a special visit to Dhankush kodi  for Rs 500.At the end of the journey one will realize that the auto fellow pressed his business tactics on us and talked us into this journey which was not worth Rs 500, as every small temple were close by and the trip was only for a distance of 30km for Rs 500!.

Our Auto journey comprised of visiting following places:
1.Ramar Padham
2.Kodandaramaswamy tample ( On the way to Dhanush kodi)
3.DhanushKodi( Where Indian Ocean meets Bay of Bengal)
4.Lakshman theertham
5.Panchamugam Hanuman.
6.Floating feet of Ram
7.Dr Abdul Kalam's House(It is a three storey house with first floor containing Dr Kalam's achievements and second floor was a shopping center selling gift articles made of sea shell.)

3:00 pm: We were done with the local visits and came to our lodging all tired and weary.

Oops very important ! I missed out the restaurants!

There were many small restaurants few blocks away from our lodging but the good ones are Hotel Anandha Bhavan and Hotel Aaryas Residency . I loved the food at Aaryas residency and this was one decent place to eat , ambiance was very good and the food worth the money.Breakfast at Anandha Bhavan was not tasty ,but I  liked the evening food .

6.30 pm: We settled at our lodging, luckily we had television at our room to entertain us .

Day 2

6.00 am: We booked a cab to visit Ramanadhapuram to visit temples there. This place was very far from Rameswaram, the cab charged us  Rs 1800 for round trip.We had to go past Pamban bridge.

8.00am: We had our breakfast at Hotel Aishwariya in  Ramanathapuram. Food  was good  there and Ramanathapuram  was well developed compared to Rameswaram. It was here that we visited four temples.
1.Devipatnam
2.Uthirakosai Mangai
3.Thirupullani
4.Sethu Karai Hanuman Temple

Sethu Karai Hanuman temple was a fabulous place to visit, the temple was close to Bay of Bengal sea, water was light  blue, crystal clear and cold.I wanted to stay there the entire day .It was that good!

12.00 pm: We were back to our loading. I had fallen in love with the ambiance and taste of Aaryas Bhavan ,so I talked my parents into going to  that restaurant for eating  lunch again .

6.00 pm: We had our dinner in advance at Hotel Anandha Bhavan before boarding the train .

8.00 pm: We left Rameswaram in Rameswaram Express.

In the train on our return,I was recollecting my experience at Rameswaram .From my stay, I would suggest every individual to visit this beautiful place irrespective of being a theist or otherwise. This place is a collection of islands and has water all around it,for some one who loves beaches and nature this is an ideal place to visit .

I will visit this place again in future to enjoy the bliss of nature which is a rarity for someone who stays in the city like me.

Hyderabad on the last day of college

March 9 ,2013 my Engineering examination came to an end.A memorable day in my life, a day to mark an end to those fun-filled and assiduous college life.I wanted to celebrate this occasion with my close college friends .My gang of friends came up with an idea of heading to the nearby beaches but I wanted a change and all of a sudden we thought we should head to Hyderabad, we heard  all about the posh and opulent celebrations in the city of Hyderabad so we thought we should experience it ourselves. We boarded a tourist bus and embarked our journey on that very night after examinations.

We reached Banjara Hills , a very posh place in Hyderabad , at least that is what Google search results enlightened us about the city of Hyderabad. To my surprise I found this part of India being very clean, well structured and the roads were without manholes .Hyderabad is the hub for all major IT and  corporate companies .Auto-wala  had enlighten us that Mindspace is an abode to software giants like Microsoft, IBM, Google , Facebook etc so we were heading to this part of the city. Now we wanted to book a good hotel which could offer us an enjoyable stay so again Google served the purpose .While searching online we came across a site named  "Trip or Trap!" (http://www.triportrap.com).The name of the site was very attractive and suited our situation as we wanted to save ourselves from trap .We happen to get reviews about this hotel named ''The Westine Hyderabad Mindspace Hotel" from this site, this hotel was close to Google and Facebook office and so we could  gape the building of these software giants from the hotel. Hitech city is the center for shopping, there is this cultural village called Shilparamam , where we shopped accessories , traditional clothing, handbags etc at a very cheap cost. Surprisingly ,there were many palmist seated there to entertain us about our future by reading our palm. Zorbing ball was also installed at this place , so we enjoyed all of this during our visit.Beware! before tasting chats in Hyderabad be prepared to confront the extremely spicy mirchi of Hyderabad.

Then we headed to the Inorbit mall , a huge mall close to our hotel.Only difference in this mall is that it has wonderful balcony unlike other malls I had visited so far ,where you can sit out and view the entire area covering Hi tech city and Banjara hills. After visiting the places in and around Hitech city we took some time to spend in the hotel. The hotel had very good hospitality , wonderful water pool and  a flawless music library with very good collection of songs. Thanks to http://www.triportrap.com/ for having giving us details about this hotel and helping us stay in a comfortable hotel. Many a time my travel experience had been bad because I did not have good guidance about the local hotels , this site was definitely a boon and saved our three days stay in Hyderabad from a trap.

Visit to Gods Own Country!!!

Wayanad!!is a must visit tourist place in India..Its truly "A heaven on earth" with greenery on all sides..One can witness lush green coffee fields, trees and ofcourse backwaters which will soothe anyone who visits this place...I would suggest all movie makers and music composers to visit Wayanad instead of going abroad.
Meenmutty falls was the place I visited, ideal place for trekking. One has to clamber rocks to reach this place...  truly a do or die situation if one looses  grip its a misfortune...the rocks were too steep and slippery....and the water here was a welcome note to people like me who stay in the city and feed on polluted and tasteless water. This falls is near Banasura dam, which is said to be the second largest dam...which is truly a paradigm of a complete scenery.

One has to walk a lot in this place. Its surrounded by mountains so moving on a vehicle is a tough job.Quick way to loose weight is to climb banasura hills. One will definitely enjoy his visit to these places and will return back salubrious!!!
All hail Wayanad...Every soul on earth gotto visit this place in order to enjoy the true essence of nature...
